Are Discount Injectables really worth it? When your so called deal isn’t really a deal?

Here’s the truth about what you really need to know when looking for discount injectables or discount aesthetic procedures.

When it comes to injectables, if you’re only concerned about finding the lowest price, you really need to take a different approach. You should start looking for value and safety for yourself instead. Of course, we all want the best value for our money. Searching and comparing the lowest price and not finding out or wanting to know anything else about your procedure or your injector is just craziness. Price is the last question you (we) should be asking.

Now, lets take a moment to compare 2 different scenarios:

First, you find a great Groupon or a Botox party at someone’s house and you only pay $10 dollars per unit. In your mind, this is great because my specialist charges 12-14! Hell yes, I really got lucky here! - NO! No you really didn’t, think again.

Botox is very expensive to purchase, so what happens in this type of scenario is that you were most likely injected with over-diluted Botox, which is unfortunate because it happens a lot in our industry. So, let’s say you paid for 20 units, chances are that isn’t what you got. You probably only received half of that amount. So, not only were you lied to, but you now only received half of the amount that you paid for. This great deal really wasn’t a deal was it!!?

So basically, when we break it down, you got a deal where you paid almost $20 dollars per unit. Wait a minute!? That’s more expensive than anyone charges anywhere. Yep! And that “bit@h” accepted my tip too! lol! Hhhhmmm, now you just paid $25 dollars a unit. My intention here is to not let people pull the wool over your eyes and make you a fool. (Do your research and know what’s going on).

Now, after all this, the best part of the whole scenario is your treatment won’t last very long. I hear this over and over, “I just got injected at a party or got a really cheap discount from Groupon and it already wore off!” Well yeah, I’m not surprised when I hear this from patients a thousand times over because this is what happens when you only look for a discount. So please, let’s stop the madness.

Here is the second scenario, and this one is even worse because it’s about your health and safety. You get injected with illegal Botox. Yes! This exists. This is when the Botox is purchased from a 3rd party source because it is so cheap, but it is also very illegal. Believe it or not, there are a slue of counterfeit Botox makers because it is a big business. This can be so dangerous because you have no idea what is in these products, it could be acid, plain old water, a deadly poison, or an awesome combo of all 3. Do you really want to take your chances for a Botox Treatment? I would hope not.

One thing to keep in mind is that this can happen with filler products too. So, please look for value and safety for yourself and do some research. Look for an injector with credentials and experience over a “back alley injector who’s offering the cheapest price.” Don’t just let anyone inject things into your body. Once again, be safe and ask questions, look for value not a cheap deal.

Stay tuned for my next blog where I address everyone's fear about looking fake after aesthetic treatments".
